In this post, I am going to review the Hyatt airport hotel along with the flight experience from Orlando to San Francisco.
The Hyatt Regency airport hotel is located at the Orlando International airport right at the departure hall. For those who want to walk to the hotel after the flight arrival, or stay in the hotel at the last minutes before checking into their next flight, this is the hotel to stay in.
Each hotel room has a balcony. The rooms are either facing inside the airport departure hall or outside. Some rooms are facing the airport runways which is a great place for plane spotting activities. Day-booking is also available for those who want to take a longer nap at the hotel room before the flight.
For my stay, I have booked a room with runway view.
Now, we walk to the departure hall to check in for our flight to San Francisco.
There is no line at the Alaska Airlines check-in counter for both First and Economy class passengers. We are flying First class today. There’s no lounge access for First class passengers.
The check-in process is a breeze. The TSA check process is also quick.
At Orlando airport, the terminals are far away from the departure hall. After the TSA checks, all passengers must take an air-train to the terminals for boarding.
There are plenty of restaurants and shops at the terminal.
Our aircraft is the Airbus A321 with a special livery.
The departure time was originally at 6:55pm but is delayed for about 1.5 hour.
Finally, the boarding time. There’s no priority for boarding so premium and non-premium class passengers all board at the same time. There’s a waiting line to board the plane.
My seat is a bullhead recliner seat. There are extra leg room here.
Soon, all passengers have boarded. The gate is closed and the plane is pushed back, getting ready for departure.
Flying over the Orlando sky.
The welcome drink to First class passenger is not served during boarding, but after the plane has reached some thousand feet instead.
Th aircraft seats are not equipped with any infotainment systems. Instead, passengers can use their mobile devices to connect to the onboard Wi-Fi to stream some content, such as flight status and routes, movies, inflight texting and other pertinent flight information, all for free. To connect to the internet, however, there’s a fee. I think that more and more airlines will be offering this kind of streaming infotainment feature.
By mid flight, dinner meal is served. About 1.5 hour to the destination, some snacks and drinks are also offered.
Finally, we are descending to the San Francisco international airport. The landing is very nice and smooth. Here is the landing video.
We are finally landed and it is almost midnight due to the flight delay. We enjoyed this 5+ hour flight. The First class seating is clean and comfortable. The food is good and services are attentive. Overall, it was a great flight.
