San Francisco to Los Angeles with Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-MAX

Today I am flying to Los Angeles with Southwest Airlines; then will rent a car at the airport and drive to Indio, California to attend the music and art festival at Coachella.

I parked the car at SFO Long-term parking garage, and conveniently took Airtrain from the garage to Terminal 1 (the Harvey Milk Terminal) where Southewest Airlines is located.

It was a late Friday morning in April, and the terminal was packed with people.

Spotting some international aircrafts nearby.

And here is the bird – the brand-new Boeing 737-MAX8.

Southwest is a low cost, regional airliner in America.  All seating are economy class, and is a first-come, first-served.  However, boarding the aircraft is based the assigned of group and position.  The premium class ticket will be assigned to first few boarding groups.  For the rest, priority is based on your check-in time, and check-in is open only 24 hours before the flight.  All seat width are the same.  Some other perks with Southwest Airlines include: each passenger gets 2 free check-in luggage, with each can weight up to 50 pounds.  The passenger also gets a free snack and drink during the flight.  Finally, the seat width is pretty generous compared to other airlines’ seats.
