Thai Smile Airways is a regional airline in Thailand. It’s a subsidiary of Thai Airways. Today I am flying with this airline from Bangkok to Phuket, Thailand. I am excited to check out their Smile Plus class product (an upgrade of economy class) in this domestic route.
I am making a transfer at Bangkok International Airport from a previous flight and have a few hours of wait time. Let’s check out this Bangkok airport.
This airport is huge. By Summer 2022, the pandemic is not over yet but the airport is crowded. People at the airport are all wearing a face mask.
Smile Plus class passengers are invited to the Thai Royal Silk lounge.
The Hainan chicken rice is very delicious.
Papaya is very sweet, and I believe is locally grown.
It’s time to head to the boarding gate. Smile Plus and economy class passengers use the same line to board. We all need to take the bus to get onto the aircraft.
Boarding the Airbus A320-200 8-years old aircraft.
Inside the cabin, the first few rows are Smile Plus class seats. Except for the bulkhead seats which have more leg room, the seat width and leg room are same as economy class. The one big difference is, the middle seats are not occupied to create more space for Smile Plus class passengers.
It’s time to take off on the 19L runway.
An overlook of the Bangkok sky in the beautiful sunset.
The flight to Phuket is about one hour. Due to the short duration, meal or drink are not served during the flight. However, Smile Plus passengers receive a bag with a food box (Pad Thai) and a bottle of water.
Finally landing at Phuket International Airport on runway 27.
This is a very short flight. The entire flight crew in this flight is very friendly with those lovely smiles (cannot see because of the face mask but you can see in their eyes). From check-in, lounge service, aircraft cleanliness to flight crew service, food, takeoff and landing, I have very positive experience.
