Today, I am flying Frontier Airlines from San Francisco to Las Vegas.
At the Airport
We park at SFO long-term parking garage, and conveniently take AirTrain to the airport. The train arrives frequently and getting on the train, it takes about 8 minutes to arrive at the International terminal.
Our flight is at 2:01pm. We arrive at the airport by 10:45am. There’s no line at the check-in counter (perhaps still early?) so the check-in process is pretty quick. Frontier Airlines uses International Terminal A for departure and its arrival is at Terminal 3. There are not many international flights at this time so passing through the international security checkpoint is quick.
We decide to eat at Gott’s Roadside restaurant, which has a very nice view of aircrafts coming into the terminal gates.
The Airline
Frontier is a major low-cost airline based off Denver, Colorado. The ticket can be purchased at a base price. The rest, such as priority boarding, extra-room seats, carry-on and luggage are at additional cost. It’s America’s greenest airline in term of fuel efficiency technologies, lighter seats, lighter flight and absence of inflight amenities. In addition, it raises awareness of public education by telling stories of animals, with each plane tail printed with an animal.
Boarding
We are flying on the A321 aircraft today; it’s a full flight. The boarding process is speedy.
Each Frontier aircraft is painted with an animal at the tail. The animal for this aircraft is “Cubby”.
The Aircraft
The first few rows in the aircraft are ‘stretch’ seats meaning with more leg room. The rest of the seats are regular economy seats. The stretch seats have an extra charge. My seat is at the first row in a bulkhead seat.
This is just about an hour flight. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase for all passengers.
Here is the takeoff:
And finally landing at Las Vegas International Airport.
