From New York to Frankfurt with Singapore Airlines A380

Today, I am flying from New York to Frankfurt with Singapore Airlines A380 business class.

This is right before Christmas in December 2022.  The COVID-19 pandemic is not over.  Jeferson F. Kennedy International Airport is packed with people.

There’s no line for checking in at the Singapore Airlines business class counter.

The line is very long to pass the TSA security check.

After security checkpoint.

Business class passengers are invited to the airline lounge.  Singapore Airlines uses Air India’s Maharaja Lounge.

The lounge is pretty small and at this time, it’s packed with passengers.  It’s uneasy to find an available table.  Food choice is also limited.

Our flight departs at 11:55pm.  Emirates with its A380 aircraft is also departing around the same time as our flight, and passengers are also waiting to board the plane.  As a result, the hallway is packed with so people.

Here is my seat where I will spend the next 7.5 hours in my life.  The seats in Singapoare Airlines’s A380 have been refreshed.  They look modern and luxurious.  However, compared to their older business class seats, the seat width of the new ones are more narrow.  I prefer the old seats better.

The seat can be 180-degree flat but the sleeping position is not comfortable.

A visit to the lavatory.  Very clean one.

Some welcome snacks, and the dinner meal.

I was able to sleep for about 6 hours though I’ve woken up several times.  The flight attendants did not wake me up for breakfast.  When I woke up, it was less than an hour before landing.  They did come to me and ask if I wanted breakfast, and I said no.  It is now about 10am local time.  Here is the beautiful bird that brought us to Frankfurt.

After walking out the aircraft, I spotted this special livery Qatar Airways plane.

Here is the landing video.

Overall, it was a good flight and I enjoyed it.
