Flying to Ho Chi Minh City with VietJet Air SkyBOSS

VietJet Air is an international low-cost airline based in Vietnam.  Its SkyBOSS is a premium ticket class where, with an additional cost, a passenger can enjoy extra perks such as wider seats, lounge access, complimentary inflight food, private car transfer to/from the aircraft, etc. I am flying to Ho Chi Minh City today and excited to try out this airline in SkyBOSS class.

The check-in counter at Phuket International Airport doesn’t have a line; however, the check-in process takes a little time due to some paperwork, such as Covid certificates, entry passport, etc.

SkyBOSS passengers have access to the Coral lounge at the Phuket airport.  The lounge is not big but is very neat and organized.

Besides food and drink, the lounge offers a 15-minutes free massage its guests if they want it.  The massage is offered right at the lounge seat.  After enjoying some food and drinks, we are heading to the gate for boarding.  Here is the 8-years old Airbus A320 aircraft bringing us to Ho Chi Minh City.

Boarding time.

My seat is at first row bulkhead seat.

After the passengers are settled down, a welcome drink is offered.

Here is the takeoff video.  The distance to Ho Chi Minh City from Phuket is 700 nautical miles, which takes about 110 minutes to arrive.

Once we’ve reached some thousand fleet, the aircraft is partitioned into a SkyBOSS section and the remaining one.

Here are the food and drink menu item are available for purchase during the flight.  They are complimentary for SkyBOSS passengers.

My stomach is full so I just ordered a green tea for myself.

SkyBOSS kid passengers will get a free gift.  This one is a passport-holder bag.

The lavatory.

Finally, a nice landing at Ho Chi Minh International Airport.

After landing, SkyBOSS passengers will be transferred from the aircraft to the airport gate in a separate vehicle.

Overall, it was a good flight with decent food, drink and customer service.  We could not expect more from a low-cost airline.
